Obama Reverend Wright Reaction Video
April 28, 2008
Senator Obama talked to reporters and answered questions about a speech that his former pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, made at the National Press Club the previous day about the role of faith in American civic life and about race and religion. He said that the speech had contained “outrageous” remarks, and characterized it as a “performance” to counter recent media criticism. Sen. Obama also denounced the performance which had “shocked and surprised” him, and told reporters that he would distance his campaign from Rev. Wright.
