Democratic senators spoke to reporters about drought aid programs for Midwest farmers. The House eliminated 1.6 billion dollars in agriculture disaster relief funding from the Defense Appropriations bill. Senator Durbin spoke about the effects of Hurricane Katrina along the Gulf Coast and the drought in the Midwest. Following their remarks, the senators responded to questions and comments from the reporters.
