Senator Barack Obama spoke to supporters following the last Democratic presidential primary elections in South Dakota and Montana and noted that he had received enough pledged and super delegates to secure the Democratic presidential nomination. He praised Senator Hillary Clinton and her supporters for a well fought campaign and characterized her candidacy as groundbreaking. He also talked about his vision for change and contrasted his message with Republican Senator John McCain’s campaign message in the Republican nomination process.
The rally was held at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where the Republican National Convention would officially nominate their candidate later in the summer.
