Senator Barack Obama spoke at the 99th Annual Convention of the NAACP held at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. In his remarks he intended to continue espousing a message of personal responsibility and called on parents, particularly in the black community, to become more engaged in their children’s lives. He also talked about the civil rights movement and its legacy in contemporary politics.
